I found a lump in my left breast while putting on my bra that snaps in the front. I don’t think I would of found this if it wasn’t for the placement of it being so close to the edge of my breast and close to the snap. I also would feel a tingling sensation in the area every now and then, sometimes it would itch a little.

My first surgery was on September 22, 2005 where I had a lump in my breast removed. I got the call on September 26th that is was cancerous. My second re-excision surgery was on October 5th.

I did six weeks of radiation starting on October 26, 2005. What a whirlwind those months were!

Leroy Sievers Passed AwayViews: 3457

Here is a quote from Leroy Sievers about the cancer. “After that day, your life is never the same. “That day” is the day the doctor tells you, “You have cancer.” Every one of us knows someone who’s had to face that news. It’s scary, it’s sad. But it’s still life, and it’s a life worth living. “My Cancer” is a daily account of my life and my fight with cancer.”

Leroy wrote about cancer in a way we can all relate to.

We love you Leroy!

Thanks for passing along that quote from Leroy. Truer words never spoken. “After that day, your life is never the same”. Now that i am slowly recuperating from my radiation treatment, i wonder what awaits me down the road. My first PET scan check up since radiation is in October and I wonder with a mixture of apprehension and fatalism what the outcome will be. I glance sometimes during the day at my yellow Livestrong wrist band on my arm and have to remind myself of the reality of what i have gone through and what i could be facing. It helps me keep the eye on the prize of enjoying and living in the present as much as is possible.
I hope that you are doing well and savoring the little moments.
My prayers are with you.

I am sorry to hear about Leroy, He is in the arms of God and the Angles. He will be missed.
Jill thank for letting us know. In future will you keep us updated. When people do not post we worry about them

Hug Sherri

May he rest in the arms of God. May we all rejoice together on that day when we will know no disease.

Mac

He was or still is a inspiration to all of us..
Thanks for passing his message on…

Jill; thanks for your posting. I clicked on the web address and read a number of letters that he and his wife wrote. I really started to cry. It felt as if I was back caring for my step mom and Dad and Mom and Aunt. It is all too familiar but I found it also comforting to know that we all feel the same about cancer. Here is a link to Siever’s career history in case someone is interested. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=2101185#share
I always find something new here each and every day. Prayers to all. Weezie

Hi, Jill. Thank you very much for your comment and support. As someone who just got the “news”, I totally understand that we will always remember the day. I am too scared right now to go to his website, but eventually I will go and read when I am ready, I am sure it will be inspiring.
